  • What is the BlacOak Wine Festival?
    The BlacOak Wine Festival is the flagship event of the BlacOak Wine Club and Tasting Room. The BlacOak Wine Club was created as a platform to highlight underserved black owned wine brands. The BlacOak Wine Festival is a new platform created as a vehicle to place Brands and Wine enthusiast in the same space for introductions and future support. The wine festival will showcase both black-owned and local wine brands who are both underserved in the wine industry. Guests will taste new wines, enjoy delicious food from local catering companies and dance to music provided by live performers and DJ's. additional event highlights include, games, VIP experiences, and interactive installations that will strengthen our guests knowledge about wine and wine adjacent activities and indulgences.
  • When is the BlacOak Wine Festival?
    The BlacOak Wine Festival will take place on Saturday August 5th, 2023. Doors open for VIP guests ONLY at 12pm. Doors open for General Admission guests at 1pm. The event will be ending at 7pm.
  • Where will The BlacOak Wine Festival be held?
    The event will be held in a centralized location in Philadelphia, PA. The exact location of this year's wine festival is only being disclosed to paid ticket holders and approved vendors.
  • Is there an age requirement to attend the event?
    Yes, all guests must be at least 21 years of age or older to attend the BlacOak Wine Festival. Identification proving you are of legal drinking age is required for entry. We reserve the right to refuse entry to any person who can not provide a valid drivers license or state issued ID. If a ticket holder is unable to gain entry to the festival for the aforementioned reason they will forfeit the cost of their ticket.
  • What happens if it rains?
    This event is rain or shine. The party will go on. If however the weather is hazardous for staff and guests the event organizers reserve the right to announce a rain date within 24 hours of the event.
  • Is there adequate parking at the venue?
    Yes, this is private as well as non-paid street parking options within steps of the main entrance. However we strongly suggest using a ridesharing service to reduce the risk of driving after a fun filled day at the festival.
  • Are non-festival food and beverage permitted?
    NO, the goal of this event is to support the small businesses participating as vendors in a safe and fun environment. Additional alcoholic beverages will hinder our ability to regulate over consumption, and possible impede on the experience for other guests. Basically no sloppy drunks at our party! The food vendors will be providing tons of great samples of their products. In addition all food vendors will offer the ability for guests to purchase full-side portions of their sample meals. VIP guests will be treated to an open catered buffet full of quick bites and savory delights while supplies last. Guest can however bring picnic baskets containing plating, utensils, and décor for instagramable moments.
  • What are the seating options?
    Attendees will be provided with a blanket for lawn seating. However their will be reserved seating scattered through the venue for VIP guests. Reserved VIP seating is first come first serve. VIP Group seating is reserved specifically for each group.
  • What should you bring with you to the festival?
    The items listed below are optional but may make for an enjoyable experience. GOOD ENERGY Bug spray Sunscreen Cork screw Napkins, Plates and utensils. Playing Cards, board games, A charge pack for your cellphone Hand sanitizer GOOD ENERGY
  • Can you bring your own chair?
    NO, outdoor lawn chair, packable chairs, or folding chairs are prohibited.
  • Will there be other beverages besides wine?
    YES, There will be craft cocktails onsite, as well as sodas and juices that can be purchased from the food vendors. The festival will be providing a steady stream of water for all guests at stations that will be set up throughout the venue.
  • What is the dress code?
    The dress code is summer chic. We expect guests to be photo ready! Our color scheme which absolutely must be adhered to for entry is BLUE, YELLOW, WHITE, & ORANGE! One of these colors must be prominent in your outfit for entry. No Plain white t-shirts, no jogging suits, or basketball sneakers are permitted.
  • What items are NOT Allowed at the event?
    You will not gain entry if you have any of the following items: Weapons Children Outside food or beverages Pets Tents or canopies Coolers or ice chests Chairs Hookahs Carts, wagons, strollers anything on wheels candles
  • When will ticket sales end?
    As soon as the event is sold out Midnight before the event start date which ever comes first.
  • I'm not able to attend on August 5th are there any other events this year?
    The BlacOak Team hosts weekly events at the BlacOak tasting room. These events are centered around wine education and themed to include other items of interest to our guests. You can find our full event calendar under the events tab. Please note that our Fall event schedule will be posted August 8th.   • The event description mentions a giveaway, what are you giving away?
    The giveaway is actually one of our event highlight. The official BlacOak Travel Agent. Travel Goddess International is giving away a 5day 4night Mexico vacation package. Also in Partnership with LIVE NATION we will be giving away 8pairs of tickets to upcoming concerts in Philadelphia. VIP guest are automatically entered to win with 2 raffle tickets per ticketed guest for all giveaways. General admission guests will have one raffle ticket for a chance to win the LIVE NATION giveaway. The winners will be announced before the close of the event and on Instagram.
  • Are we still accepting vendors?
    No, All Vendors are secured. Anyone who is interested in vending at a future event should check back on October 1st, for details on how to participate in our Winter Wine Festival.
