Welcome to The BlacOak Wine Festival 

Thank You for joining us for the inaugural BlacOak Wine Festival. We can not express how excited we are to host you today. We have a lot of wonderful things planned for you to experience throughout the day. Below you will find the itinerary for the festival as well as times for the different activations we have throughout the venue.

The most important thing to remember is you are here to have fun and support the amazing branding vending at the event. So taste all the wines and spirits and purchase from the vendors so they can continue to thrive in their industries. Experience the activations, vibe to the music and take plenty of photos.

VIP Mansion Tours Begin - Guests will need to sign up for the tour upon arrival different tie slots will be available. This is an optional experience 

General Admission Begins- General Admission guests will enter on the left side of the Historic Strawberry Mansion and be ushered into the Wine Festival experience.

Love Jones is a licensed PA wine brand making them one of less than a dozen black-owned wine brands in the state of Pennsylvania. 

 

4. Jlux Charcuterie

Jlux Charcuterie is a small (Black Owned, Women-Owned) luxury charcuterie business here to elevate your event to the next level.

 

5. Hilo Fiber Bar

Hilo was first born in 2020 in Philadelphia PA, founded by Miranda G Lopez. As an evolving artist she came across this medium very early in her career. She first begun creating yarn images on small canvases then later translated into murals and furniture.

3. Love Jones Wine Cocktail 

Love Jones is a refreshing & sophisticated taste of Organic wine, Caribbean rum & freshly picked fruit that will satisfy every tastebud! Owned by Lori  Sainvil  Love Jones wine cocktail is a Caribbean spin on a traditional beverage. Love Jones is a licensed PA wine brand making them one of less than a dozen black-owned wine brands in the state of Pennsylvania. Thank Loves Jones for the all day froze! 

 

4. Twenty Ten Wines 

A BlacOak wine partner and Black-owned wine brand producing delicious wines from Napa Valley, California. This brand was created by Mike Davis a Chicago native who is excited about producing desirable wines. 

 

5. Six19 Black 

Black Woman-Owned: Six19 Black bridges ancestral roots, youthful energy, and evergreen sophistication with the vitality of wine, art, and Black culture. Check out Six19 Black's Sparkling Rosé. 

 

6. Strange Fruit

The Strange Fruit wines are a collection of protest wines, created to carry on the legacy of the song, "Strange Fruit" and to fight in the complex battle toward racial equality by using the wine industry as a platform for political and social protest. Created by Stacey Stokes during the festival you can try both the sweet red and Moscato but warning there is something delicious and strange about that fruit. 

 

7. Cellar Beast Wine House 

A PA wine brand that produces some of the most delicious wines in the country. Winemakers Matt Check and Brian Crew are experienced and very knowledgeable wine nerds that have helped many black-owned wine brands enter the industry. They have used their knowledge and expertise to mentor brands like BlacOak and Arrive Wines, while going above and beyond to be inclusive and inviting to novice entering the industry.  Whichever wines they are featuring are worth the try and the buy! 

 

8. Mural City Cellars 

Brought to you by Francesca & Nicholas this beautiful couple has a  passion for making and drinking uncomplicated, un-stuffy, unmanipulated wine. All of their grapes are sourced within a 300 mile radius of Philadelphia. Their Philadelphia tasting room and wine garden both have a casual vibe that harvests the energy of their Fishtown community! 

 

9. Davine Wines

A Black-Owned Woman-Owned wine brand Davine Wines has been an inspiring addition to Chicago’s diverse culture since 2019. Creating wines that pair perfectly with pizza this Chicago brand does traditional wines effortlessly.  

 

10. Mark & Val Wines 

Mark and Val Wines is located in York PA, they opened a stand at Penn Market in the spring of 2021. Their bottles feature the faces of York County women, including former Mayor C. Kim Bracey, artist Ophelia Chambliss, and many others. The are among a very small group of Black-owned wine brands in the state of Pennsylvania. Check out their wide collection of both sweet and dry wines.
